Vipassana

Meaning “Insight” or “To see things as they really are”

After more than 7 years practicing vipassana daily, done 10 courses and assist 5 courses as well. I can see this as very likely the most influencing practice in my life. I´ve seen, slowly and steady changes in my life, in myself. Gaining confidence, wisdom, letting go, releasing some attachment, and being less attached to things, believes, emotions. This have helped me greatly to live a happier life, and when I was not that happy, to not hold into the unhappiness, and let the me be back to the bright side of life.

To know that what you experience is anger, doubt, fear, liking, disliking or neutral. To know that this is hearing, thinking, itching or pain. Or to know that this is just sitting, standing, walking or lying. To be aware of all what is happening in the moment without trying to change it, without trying to control it. To know this moment is like this, and not to think this moment should be like that. To let this feeling, noise, thought to be, and for us to become the witness to it. To be able to see your fears, doubts, delusions, anger, desires and laziness, and not react to them, only seeing that is “ok, this is doubt or this is fear”.

This gives us a great opportunity to see things as they truly are, without the mind interpreting what it is and how it should be. We get the ability to choose from consciousness, instead of from pattern. All this bring us back to the reality of the world, not to the reality of our inner world. And it helps us to be grounded, to look at things in a different perspective, to not be slaves of our minds. Instead we become the knower of this moment, this mind, this body.

A Vipassana course, will guide you towards some insights/clear comprehension about life that it´s beyond any theory or book it can be read. It´s a direct experience, of the 3 characteristics of existence in Buddhism, anatta, dukkha, anicca; Impermanence, non-self or non-control and suffering. Once we can embody and understand deeply that life is constantly changing, there is suffering, and we cannot control it. Then we´ll start to accept things as they are. We´ll start to see ourselves more clearly, and not identified with our difficulties as before.
